homeless man, beggar, poverty

Short Biography, Non-profit Organization (250 words)

K C, founder of WLA, is warm and relaxed, but also driven.

She is just as comfortable volunteering among the homeless as she is at the helm of her nonprofit, tirelessly developing strategies to expand the reach of the organization. This occasional background actress, who holds a master’s degree in social work, also has a strong entrepreneurial streak.

After graduating from Howard University and working within a disadvantaged population, KC realized that she aspired to a greater purpose; she was destined to educate, motivate, and inspire others on a broader scale. She enrolled in an intensive program at the Capp Institute, emerging as a Certified Personal and Executive Coach (CPEC). Becoming a life coach gave her the skills to carry out her purpose on a more expansive level.

In 2013 KC founded Achieve, a dynamic personal coaching business where she worked with corporate leaders, entertainers, and athletes to help them accomplish significant personal and career transitions. Not content with that success, in 2017 KC funneled her passion for service into WLA, which allowed her to combine her skills and education to benefit those in need.

A move to Arlington, VA brought her together with XX, who shares her passion for service, and they decided to take WLA to the next level, incorporating as a 501(c)(3) in 2020. Future plans include expansion beyond the DMV area into neighboring states.

Whether she’s sharing tacos with friends or distributing care packages to the homeless, there is a spirit of joy that surrounds her. In all things, KC leads with love.
